Can You Change the Game Difficulty in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Zelda: TotK)?
Some of the contents of the article below refer to information based on previous titles which will be updated after The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s release.
Game difficulty cannot be changed.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom does not have a difficulty setting so the game difficulty cannot be changed.
The game has an auto-save feature and there are no penalties for getting any Game Overs, you can retry any challenges or battles as many times as you like without any downsides.
If You Find the Game Too Hard
If you find the game to be too difficult, stop doing the main story quest for a while and prioritize strengthening Link.
If you want to increase your Heart and Energy Gauge, try to do Shrine of Trials challenges.
If you want to increase your attack power and defense, try acquiring new weapons and armor.
If you do not have enough recovery items, try gathering ingredients and cooking them.
Always remember that it is important to prepare for any challenge accordingly.
Will there be a Master Mode in the DLC?
In Breath of the Wild”, Master Mode was implemented in the additional DLC.
This made the difficulty level very challenging by making enemies stronger and increasing their numbers, reducing the number of available auto-save slots, and eliminating Link’s ability to withstand certain enemy attacks.
If you have confidence in your skills, you can try out Master Mode when it is added in Tears of the Kingdom.
