Capture Photos
Use Purah Pad Camera
Press and hold the cross button to take out the Purah Pad Camera. Then aim at the subject you want to shoot into the lens and press the A button to take a picture.
The name is displayed in “orange” if it is not registered in the Hyrule Compendium yet, and it will be in blue if it is already registered.

Taking Photos Tips and Tricks
Enemies that can only be fought once
Bosses that cannot be seen again and can only be fought once cannot be photographed if defeated. When fighting a boss, you can register its name in the book and you need to take a picture of it before fighting.
Master Sword can’t be photographed
If you pull out the master sword place it on the ground, it can’t be photographed and will not be registered.
