How to Get Infinite Items Guide for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Zelda: TotK)
*The item method described below is likely due to a bug and may significantly impair the game’s balance. Please attempt this exploit at your own risk. This glitch may also not work once future updates and patches are implemented.
How to Get Infinite Materials through Duplication
Prepare two bows and equip one of them.
First prepare two bows.
The type of bows you use does not matter so equip one of them.
Hold the bow and press the directional button ↑ to select the material you want to duplicate.
Hold the bow with ZR and press the directional button ↑ to display the materials to attach to the bow. Then, select the material you want to duplicate with the R stick.
Take out the equipped bow from your pouch.
Open your pouch and remove the equipped bow from it.
Equip the other bow and hit [+] twice.
Equip a different bow other than the first one you used.
After equipping, hit the [+] button twice in a rhythm
If you hit the button too fast or too slow, the process may fail so be careful.
Take out the second bow you equipped from your pouch.
You will know if the exploit was successful if the equipment is aligned to the left when you hit the [+] button repeatedly.
Next, take out the second bow equipped from the pouch.
Retrieve the bows.
When you retrieve the two bows, the material attached to the first bow will have increased.
By repeating this process, you can duplicate materials and items infinitely.
How to Get Infinite Equipment
Equip a shield.
Regardless of the type of equipment you want to increase, you must always equip a shield.
Because of this, prepare a shield first.
Prepare equipment of the same category as the equipment you want to duplicate.
To duplicate equipment, you need 2 pieces of gear from the same category.
If you want to get infinite weapons, prepare two weapons, and if you want more shields, prepare two shields.
Equip the gear you want to duplicate.
When you are ready, equip the piece of gear you want to duplicate first.
Save in that state.
Save manually.
Manual saves can be done by opening the pouch and going to the system tab.
Return without closing the menu and remove the equipped piece of gear from your pouch.
Be careful not to close the menu and tab to the equipment screen.
Then, select the piece of gear that you equipped earlier and take it out of the pouch.
Equip a different piece of gear and hit [+] twice.
Equip another piece of gear from the one used before.
Then, try to select equipment of the same category.
After equipping, hit the [+] button twice in a rhythm,
If you hit too fast or too slow, the process may fail so be careful.
Take out the second piece of equipment from your pouch.
You will know if the exploit was successful if the equipment is aligned to the left when you hit the [+] button repeatedly.
Next, take out the second piece of gear you equipped from the pouch.
Load your saved data.
Load the previous save data.
After loading, if the first piece of equipment is on the ground, the equipment duplication exploit was successful.
Finally, pick up the piece of gear on the ground.
Reasons Why the Item Duplication Exploit May Not Work
Below are some common mistakes when doing the item duplication glitch.
Missing the timing of repeated hits with the [+] button.
The item duplication glitch will fail if you miss the timing of repeated hits with [+] .
Pressing the button too fast or too slow is no good so you need to remember the timing.
Try to hit the [+] button repeatedly as if you were double-clicking with a mouse.
The second piece of equipment is not taken out of the pouch.
Even if you forget to take out the second piece of equipment from the pouch, the item duplication exploit will fail.
Even if you successfully time the [+] button, do not relax yet and take out the second equipment from your pouch.
How to Use the Duplication Glitch to Get 4 Copies of an Item at Once
Hold an item while shield surfing.
Below are the steps for another item duplication glitch that makes it easy to multiply items while shield surfing.
Since the items right next to those that you want to duplicate disappear, it is recommended to place the additional item in the lower right corner of the pouch to duplicate them without losing them.
Place the item you want to duplicate to the bottom right of the pouch.
Open your pouch while shield surfing in the air.
Press and hold the ZL button to raise your shield.
↓
Jump with the X button while holding the shield.
↓
Shield surf with the A button while jumping.
Hold an item with a quantity of 1.
Have 4 items you want to multiply.
Close the pouch with the 1 item + 4 items you want to multiply in your hand.
When the pouch is closed, the items held in your hand will drop to the ground.
You will know that the items multiplied if the items you held were dropped but still appear in your pouch.
Finally, close your pouch with the B button or + button.
