Shield Surfing Tips (Mechanics)

Can be done on downhills only.

Shield surfing can only be used properly on downhills.

The action lets you move quickly and can be used even if there is a slight slope. If you find a downhill section, use it as much as you can.

Shield durability is reduced on some terrain.

The durability of the shield does not decrease in terrain such as snow and deserts. Rough terrain like grasslands and rocky areas, however, will deplete shield durability.

Therefore, when using shield surf on grasslands and other rough terrain, be sure to equip a shield that you are okay with breaking before doing so.
