Lock-on to enemies with the ZL Button

When you press the ZL Button near an enemy, Link will lock on to it. When you focus on an enemy, you can move around it. Maintain your concentration on your opponent to make it easier to guard, evade, and deliver damage.

Learn how to use Evade and Counter Attacks

Backflips and side leaps can be used to avoid opposing strikes. Backflips may be used to avoid slicing strikes, while side leaps can be used to avoid vertical assaults.

If you dodge at the right time, you will acquire a slow effect, and if you dodge at the right time, you will be able to counterattack with a “rush” attack.

Get used to Perfect Guard

Holding the shield with the ZL Button and pressing the A Button at the proper time to match the enemy’s assault will cause a “Parry Attack” to occur.

You may terrify foes or hurt them by bouncing projectiles. The timing is tricky at first, but let’s start with the standard battles and gradually get used to it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom How to Perfect Guard

Inflict heavy damage with Surprise Attack

When you approach an enemy from behind or while sleeping, press the Y button to perform a “Surprise Attack” that deals massive damage.

It will be tough to detect if you crouch down to approach it, and if you crouch leap, you will be able to move fast while muting the sound.

Aim for a headshot with a bow

When using a bow and arrow to strike the head, the damage is increased by twofold.

Jumping from a step will start a slow effect and make it simpler to aim at the head, so use it when there are boxes or rocks around.
