Sky Island Early Game Guide

Tips for Early Game

1 Get the Purah Pad.
2 Enter the Time Temple.
3 First, proceed to the Ukuoh Shrine.
4 Mark the location of the following two shrines on your map.
5 Next, go to the In-Isa Shrine.
6 To get to the mining cave, head east.
7 Then, proceed to Gutanbac Shrine.
8 Return to the Time Temple.
9 Then, proceed to Nachoyah Shrine.
10 To reach Hyrule, dive to the ground.

Acquire the Purah Pad

Talk to the golem in front of the damaged bridge to receive the “Purah Pad” when you first arrive on Sky Island.

The Purah Pad is a one-of-a-kind tool that allows you to view the map as well as check on your current problems.

Proceed to the Temple of Time

Clear the Ukuoh Shrine first

Pin the next two shrines

Press the R Button to utilize a “telescope” to link the two shrines in your map. If you place a pin on the map, it will become a marker to your destination.

Hunt Creatures and Gather Materials

Get fruits and mushrooms on your way to the shrine.

Meat is also a good source of recovery for Link’s Heart Containers and Stamina Wheel. If you come across with a random creature, squat down to avoid being noticed and hunt with a bow when you get near enough.

Cook Materials

Cooking obtained materials when you come across a cooking pan in the wild. Begin cooking with the ingredients you have on hand.

Hover over the ingredients you wish to use in the meal and pick “Hold in hand” from the menu.

Head to In-Isa Shrine next

Head southwest and use your Ultrahand to construct a boat by connecting “logs” and “sails” together.

Hop on as soon as the boat floats in the water. If you are unable to board a boat, refresh your save file.

The In-Isa Shrine will force you to learn “Fuse,” which is the process of combining weapons and goods to produce new and more durable weapons or equipment.

Enter the Mining Cave by going east

Go south and east to reach the Mining Cave. Make a mining cart or trolley using the Zonai Gear you acquired from a golem to proceed to the next shrine.

Proceed to Gutanbac Shrine

The Gutanbac Shrine is located in a snowy mountain region so take measures against Cold status effects.

Before proceeding, we suggest cooking a Simmered Fruit and another dish with bonus Cold Resistance.

Set the pan on fire using a flint

On your route to the shrine, there is an unlit pot with a “flint” nearby, and if you strike it with a hard weapon like metal or rock, you can set the pot on fire.

Use flint if you wish to cook on the snowy mountains.

Climb the frozen ivy to reach the shrine

The shrine is set on a high ledge, and the walls are frozen and cannot be scaled.

Climb the ivy on the north side of the shrine to get to the Gutanbac shrine.

The Stamina Wheel diminishes when climbing the ivy, therefore let’s restore it once at the halfway point and climb again.

Return to the Temple of Time

After completing the first three shrines. Return to the Temple of Time. Also, don’t forget to pick up materials found in a tree.

When you return to the temple. You can descend the snowy mountain by making a flying transport

Learn Recall

When you return to the temple of time, you will gain a new ability called Recall. Restore the water mill first before you are able to fly back to the plains.

Go to Nachoyah Shrine

Make your way to Nachoyah Shrine to increase your Heart Containers further.

Use Recall again to make the water wheel work on this shrine. There is also a golem that needs 100 Zonai Energy Crystals in order to activate.

Dive to the ground to return to Hyrule

After clearing the Nachoyah Shrine, then return to the Temple of Time and utilize the “Light of Blessing” from the statue to increase your Heart Containers
