Continuous Damage from Fire

If you do not build up any fire resistance, you will be continuously damaged by fire in hot environments such as abandoned mines and volcanoes. Equip an armor with a Flame Guard effect or consume items that grant fire resistance.

Wooden weapons and arrows might break

Wooden equipment may burn and break in hot environments. Additionally, arrows and bomb arrows may burn or detonate in a hot environment, so use caution.

How to Deal with Fire

Equip an armor with “Fire Guard” effect

Fire can be mitigated if you are wearing armor with a  Flame Guard effect, which can make you fireproof. Some armors have effects embedded in them that can be useful to counter negative effects. Armor shops in villages sell different armors, so make sure to check them out.

Fire can be treated using medicine or food

Fire can be treated by consuming medicine or food that grants a Flame Guard effect. However, it only lasts for a limited time. Below is a list of consumable items that can treat and resist Fire.

If you do not build up any Cold Resistance, you will take continuous damage when exploring freezing climates. The steady damage that you take increases the lower the temperature.

Increased damage taken when entering certain bodies of water.

You will take continuous damage even faster when you enter certain bodies of water in freezing climates.

Depletes Link’s maximum health

Gloom depletes Link’s maximum health and cannot be cured with common healing items. When Link is attacked by gloom, his hearts will break, indicating that the gloom effect was executed.

Cracked hearts cannot be healed using common healing items

Cracked hearts, caused by Gloom, cannot be healed using common healing items. It can only be healed by using certain items and activating Lightroots.

Equip an armor with Gloom Resistance effect

Gloom can be mitigated if you are wearing armor with a  Gloom Resistance effect. These armors give Link spare hearts to provide additional protection against Gloom.

Gloom can be treated using Sundelion

Gloom can be treated by adding Sundelion to your dishes. Consume the dish you made with Sundelion to restore Link’s cracked hearts.
