How to Save Manually Guide for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Zelda: TotK)
You can save from the menu screen.
To save manually, follow these steps:
[+ Button] → [System] → [Save]
There is only one save slot that can be used for manual saves. New files created from saving manually will be overwritten.
Try to use it right before an event or battle that you might want to do over and over again.
Saving manually cannot be done in certain situations.
Manual saving will be disabled in certain situations such as during boss battles.
If you exit the game in the middle of the boss battle, you will start right before the fight so be careful.
Auto-Save Enabled
Auto-save is activated when moving between areas and during other key events.
Since the game auto-saves frequently , so you do not need to be conscious of saving too much.
When the notification “Saving” appears on the screen, your progress is currently being auto-saved.
Maximum of 5 Auto-Save Slots
You have 5 save slots for auto-saving , and the oldest game data will be overwritten each time an auto-save is activated.
You can backtrack to a certain extent so you can play the game comfortably.
What to Do if Multiple People Play on the Same Device
If multiple people want to play on one copy of the game (such as various members of the family), you can create separate accounts on the Nintendo Switch.
Saves are separate for each account which will allow you to play the game without erasing other people’s save data.
