The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Permanent Events and Missables
Is there are New Game Plus?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won’t feature a new game plus element after clearing because the last game, Breath of the Wild, did not have one as well.
After clearing, you are free to wander throughout the world as you choose. So, let’s enjoy playing replay, cleaning up all the shrines, gathering all the Korok Seeds, and so on.
How to unlock Post-Game
Clear the final main quest and defeat the final boss
Clear the last main quest and defeat the final boss in order to unlock the post-game. Let the main story credits finish and the final main quest will be marked as cleared.
Take note that you will not be able to save your progress after taking down the final boss. You will return to the title screen after the end credits roll immediately.
What elements are unlocked after clearing the main story
Save data will be marked with a star icon
Your save data will be marked with a star icon when it has been cleared.
Your completion rate will be displayed on your Hyrule map
Furthermore, the “completion rate” will be displayed in your Purah Pad, including a map completion rate. will be displayed in the lower right corner of the map.

Post-Game Activities Available
Increase your Hyrule Map completion rate to 100%
You’ll be able to see an indication in the lower left corner of your map showing how much of Hyrule you’ve explored once you’ve defeated the final boss at the end of the game’s main story.
The map completion rate is determined by three factors:
- Discovered Shrines
- Obtained Korok seeds
- Locations Mapped
Locate and capture a shrine
You need to discover 150 shrines in order to boost your pace of map completion. Link’s Heart Containers and Stamina Wheels will grow as a result of the shrines being opened.
