The trailer showed Hulk picking up vehicles like they are made of cardboard and threw one at an enemy tank. Iron Man was also there flying around the area and fired a chest proton blast. Thor also made an appearance, throwing his trusty Mjolnir at an enemy and causing an electric shock. Captain America showcased his super strength by defeating multiple enemies with ease, while Black Widow tried to stop the enemy leader Task Master, a popular Marvel villain.
The E3 2019 presentation also included an interview with the voice cast of Avengers. The cast includes Nolan North as Iron Man, Troy Baker as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Jeff Schine as Captain America, Travis Willingham as Thor, and Laura Bailey as Black Widow.
Crystal Dynamics, along with Eidos Montreal, is developing the game with Square Enix serving as the publisher. The developers say that Marvel’s Avengers will be an action game that supports online co-op for up to four players.
Despite having online features, Avengers will not have loot boxes or microtransactions commonly seen in online games. Instead, Crystal Dynamics promises that their DLC, which features fan-favorite characters and new areas or maps, will be given for free.
Marvel’s Avengers releases on May 15, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
