Pokémon Sun & Moon players will soon be able to connect with each other using the game’s Festival Plaza! Aside from interacting with fellow trainers from around the world, the Festival Plaza also has several attractions for players and other guests. Let’s take a peek inside!
What is the Festival Plaza?
The Festival Plaza is a collection of communication functions in Pokémon Sun & Moon. Like other link systems from older Pokémon games, the Plaza serves as a place where players can battle or trade Pokémon with other players. However, Pokémon Sun & Moon improves on the experience by adding some new features.
A trainer called Captain Sophocles owns the Festival Plaza, and can be reached through the in-game menu. The player will be able to get to the Plaza sometime during the course of Sun & Moon’s gameplay, and is accessible through the Festival Plaza icon at the bottom of the screen.
Festival Coins
The Festival Plaza uses Festival Coins as its form of money. Players get Festival Coins by talking to the Plaza’s guests (non-playable characters) and recommending places to eat, shop or go. The more Festival Coins the player earns, the higher the level of the Plaza becomes, and the more rewards and activities the player will get!
Shops
A lot of items are available in the Festival Plaza shops. Goodies, bouncy houses where Pokémon can train in, and shops that sell new clothes or dye old clothes using berries are open for players!
Team and Global Missions
After the Plaza reaches a certain rank, the player will be able to host co-op missions with other players to reach a certain goal. It also has a form of the “Player Search System”, that links with nearby players by local wireless or online. Global missions will also be held in the future, so watch out for that!
