How to Respec Stats in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, it is important to build your character based on your preferred playstyle by distributing your stat points correctly to any of the 8 major attributes (Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane).
Throughout the course of the game, you might misallocate a few points to stats you do not need, especially if you have reached the stat soft cap already. You may also want to try an entirely different build without having to start the game from the very beginning. Fortunately, there is a way to respec your character’s stats, though it can only be accessed fairly late in the game.
Respecing Your Character
Defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
To respec your character’s stats, you must progress to the game and defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon at the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
The Glintstone Key is Required to Enter the Academy of Raya Lucaria
To enter the academy, you will need to have acquired a Glintstone Key found near the Temple Quarter. Head to the area and move northwest to find a Site of Grace. Afterwards, go north until you reach a lake and a Glinstone Dragon sleeping not far from where you are. The Glintstone Key is on the corpse of a sorcerer behind the dragon which you can choose to take on or sneak past.
Once you have obtained the Glintstone Key, go to the Academy of Raya Lucaria’s library and defeat Rennala. Afterwards, talk to her and she will offer to reset your stat points at the cost of 1 Larval Tear.
Larval Tears
You can get a Larval Tear by defeating the Giant Crayfish after it transforms into the Grafted Scion south of the Fallen Ruins Site of Grace.
Another tear is found on a corpse in the building full of tombs at the Village of Albinaurics. The village is located to the southwest of Liurnia.
Lastly, a Larval Tear can be bought form the Abandoned Vendor in Siofre River for 3000 Runes. To reach the merchant, go to Mistwood and travel to the Siofre River Well structure. Ride the lift down to each the underground area. Move through the passages until you hear music, signifying that you are near the Abandoned Vendor’s Camp.
