Stat Soft Caps Guide for Elden Ring
What are Stat Soft Caps?
In Elden Ring, your character grows stronger by leveling up and allocating points to any of their 8 major stats (Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane). Upon reaching very high levels for a specific stat, the bonuses gained for the parameters they affect start to go down. The specific value (or values) at which a stat begins to undergo diminishing returns for them to be worth the investment is called the stat soft cap.
Knowing stat soft cups is essential for optimizing your character’s build as you would not want to waste stat points on attributes that do not give you any reasonable benefit after reaching a certain value. Fortunately, it is possible to reallocate your stat points if you mess up once you have cleared the Academy of Raya Lucaria legacy dungeon.
Stat Hard Caps (Stat Value 99)
Stat hard caps are the absolute limit of each stat to provide any increase to a character’s different parameters. This value ceiling is essentially where stats cannot be increased anymore and is at a value of 99 (maximum value in-game).
Stat Caps for Each Stat
Below is a table summarizing all soft caps or the point where the stat investment starts to decline from the optimal. Most stats have at least two soft cap stages that reduce the bonuses applied to parameters they affect while stats that affect weapon and magic damage scaling usually have three stages.
