Is Cross-Play Available in Elden Ring?
Only Supported Between Platforms from the Same Manufacturer
Elden Ring supports cross-play for platforms under the same manufacturer. This means that players on Playstation 4 will be able to engage in online co-op with users on Playstation 5 and vice-versa. Xbox One players, meanwhile, will only be able to play with those on Xbox Series X or S and the reverse. Lastly, PC players can only run online sessions with people on that same platform as well.
Will Cross-Platform Play be Implemented in the Future?
Highly Unlikely Given the Trend of Past Souls Games
Since past Souls games by FromSoftware did not accommodate cross-platform play, it is safe to assume that Elden Ring will not be getting the feature in the future. Note that this is merely a speculative conclusion and does not discount the possibility of cross-platform play being implemented in a later update.
