Where to Find Glintstone Keys in Elden Ring

The Glintstone Key is a key item in Elden Ring used to gain entry to the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Without the key, you will not be able to pass through the barrier that bars your way into the Legacy Dungeon.

There a total of two Glintstone Keys in the game, each of them serving a different purpose during the main story.

First Glintstone Key Location

Liurnia of the Lakes Region Open World

To find the Glinstone Key, ride all the way west from the academy and you should stumble upon Glinstone Dragon Smarag sleeping in the middle the lake. At this point, it is recommended to sneak past the beast and loot the corpse of the Raya Lucaria Sorcerer behind it to get the Glintstone Key. Smarag will wake up so ride away quickly to get out of range of the dragon’s attacks. You can, alternatively, try to kill him.

If you are coming from the Temple Quarter, just go northwest until you find a Site of Grace. From here, simply continue riding north and you should arrive at the area where Smarag is sleeping to get the key.

Second Glintstone Key Location

Academy of Raya Lucaria

A second Glintstone Key can be obtained after beating the Red Wolf of Radagon inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria. From the boss’ Site of Grace (Debate Parlor), move out into the courtyard and go up the debris that has formed an incline on your left. Climb up the stairs past the enemies and turn left. Then, jump down the balcony to another set of stairs below with two Raya Lucaria Sorcerers. Go up the stairs and jump over the balcony and down to the rooftop below.

Move forward and kill off the two puppet-like enemies, especially the one that can fire arrows as you need to go up the ladder on the right. Afterwards, climb up the ladder and sprint forward past the scythe gargoyles and sorcerer ahead. Turn right at the end of the path and move along the edges of the pillar. Then, jump down to the rooftop below and again to another rooftop further down.

Continue descending the rooftops along the right and you should come to a building with many windows that you can jump through to go inside. Move forward along the beam and look for a chandelier below with a glowing item on it.

Jump down and pick it up to get the second Glinstone Key. The item can then be taken to Thops, the banished student sorcerer at the Church of Irith, to make him return to the academy. He will be found found just outside the Schoolhouse Classroom site of grace. Approach him to get Thop’s Bell Bearing that you can hand over to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold. This will then add some of Thop’s Spells to the twin’s stock that you can buy.
