Chapter 4 Walkthrough for Lies of P
Center of Venigni Works – Moonlight Town
- Proceed along the road.
- Defeat the mid boss at the mine exit.
- Answer the phone and get the Trinity Key
- Reach the Stargazer at the top of the stairs.
Proceed along the road.
Continue along the road until you come to a slightly larger mining area. Open the treasure chest at the top of the ladder to get the Big Pipe Wrench (blade and handle).
There is an enemy hiding on the left side of the path ahead of the mine. Past that area is a Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant used to upgrade Special Weapons.
Defeat the mid boss at the mine exit.
A mid boss will appear by the mine exit. Take it out to get Carrier’s Amulet.
Moonlight Town – Path of Misery
- Drop down from the collapsing bridge and kill the two Dimensional Butterflies.
- Get the Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance Converter from the treasure chest.
- Talk to the Atoned.
- Reach the Stargazer at the cable railway.
Drop down from the collapsing bridge and kill the two Dimensional Butterflies.
When you try to cross the bridge, it will collapse and send you down. There will be two Dimensional Butterflies flying around nearby. Take them out to get a Crescent Moonstone. Afterwards, climb the ladder and proceed to the end other end of the bridge.
Get the Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance Converter from the treasure chest.
Go past the bridge and enter the building in front of you. The fence will then lock you in with some Puppets that you need to take down.
Afterwards, get the Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance Converter from the treasure chest on the left. Then, pull the lever at the back and go outside.
Talk to the Atoned.
Talk to the Atoned NPC in front of the train and choose an option. If you choose to “Do nothing”, the Atoned will attack you. After taking down the Atoned, you will get the Steel Cable Railway Key and the Atoned’s Mask.
- The Atoned uses corrosion attacks so equip the Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance Converter for the fight.
- The enemy will do a delayed corrosion strike with its left hand so watch for the timing to guard against it. Otherwise, dodge to the left or right.
- Observe the rhythm of the enemy’s rapid sickle strikes so you can block all of them.
Reach the Stargazer at the cable railway.
If you use the cable railway key to move forward, you can reach the Path of Misery Stargazer.
Path of Misery – St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel
- Follow the path and enter the chapel.
- Leave the chapel and talk to Giangio.
- Return to the chapel and open the large door.
- Reach the Stargazer in the chapel.
Follow the path and enter the church.
You will begin to encounter Carcass enemies which are weak to fire as you head for the chapel. When you reach the chapel, go inside.
Leave the chapel and talk to Giangio.
Talk to Giangio twice at the chapel to get a Cube. Then, get the Belford Break Cartridge behind the angel statue.
- The Cube’s effect is based on the Wishstone inserted into it.
- Talk to Giangio and insert the Wishstone into the Cube.
- The Cube’s number of uses is replenished by touching a Stargazer (as with Pulse Cells).
Return to the chapel and open the large door.
After hearing about the Gold Coin Fruit Tree from Giangio and receiving the Cube, return to the cathedral and open the large door.
Defeat the mid boss at the bridge and move forward. Note that Thermite is effective against this enemy so use it if you have any.
Reach the Stargazer in the chapel.
After crossing the bridge and opening the large door, you will find the St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel Stargazer.
St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel – St. Frangelico Cathedral Library
- Go down the hole to the underground area.
- Climb the ladder out of the decay water.
- Cross the narrow beam.
- Climb the slope while avoiding the giant balls rolling down.
- Jump to the scaffolding.
- Get off the scaffolding on the right and collect the Legion Plug.
- Defeat the mid-boss.
- Get the Krat Supply Box and ride the elevator.
Go down the hole to the underground area.
Go to the left side of the chapel to find a hole you can drop down to reach the underground area.
Climb the ladder out of the decay water.
Cross the decay water and climb the ladder. Walk on the beams on the ceiling and climb the ladder in the back.
After climbing up, destroy the nearby barrel and go down to collect items.
Cross the narrow beam.
Be careful when crossing the narrow beam as the fast Carcass will throw projectiles at you. Then, go down the ladder at the far end.
Climb the slope while avoiding the giant balls rolling down.
Climb the slope where lightning balls are rolling down. When the ball passes by, start climbing. You can hide behind the board on the right side to avoid any other incoming balls.
There is a passage on the left side where the balls will fall, so use the chance to move forward. (Go to the ladder on the right after getting the Trinity Key).
You cannot get the Trinity Key yet during this chapter.
Jump to the scaffolding
Follow the path and you should come to a room with gears. Jump to the scaffolding in front of you by holding the 〇 button and tilting the left analog stick in the direction you want to jump.
Push the brazier off the edge to remove the decay water.
There is a brazier to the right of the scaffolding you jumped over by the first gear.
Push the brazier off the edge to remove the decay water on the first level. This will also cause a hidden staircase to appear which leads to a Cryptic Vessel.
Get the Crescent Moonstone at the top of the ladder.
Jump onto the scaffolding and go up the ladder on the left to find a Crescent Moonstone.
Get off the scaffolding on the right and collect the Legion Plug.
Go to the right side of the door and pull the lever. Then, go down the scaffolding and you will find a small room-like area with a chest containing a Legion Plug. From here, take the elevator.
Defeat the mid-boss.
When you go beyond the door, a mid boss will appear who can shield himself from attacks. You must defeat this mid boss to advance to the next area.
- If you are using a non-attribute weapon, use a Flame Grindstone.
- The mid boss’ shield rush attack has two hits so be ready to guard twice.
- Counter the delayed Fury Attack with Perfect Guard.
- Use the Falcon Eyes Legion Arm to shoot the mid boss from the top of the ladder.
Get the Krat Supply Box and ride the elevator.
After defeating the mid-boss, proceed through the door that opens. The treasure chest on the right contains the Krat Supply Box that you can give to Polendina at Hotel Krat to unlock more items at his shop.
Once you get on the elevator, you will find St. Frangelico Cathedral Library Stargazer.
St. Frangelico Cathedral Library – Archbishop’s Atlar
- Talk to Cecile.
- Drop down the hole and defeat the Dimensional Butterfly.
- Proceed down the aisle.
- Defeat the mid-boss past the decay water area.
- Get the Archbishop’s Holy Mark in the Archbishop’s Room.
- Turn the chain to open the shortcut.
- Give the Archbishop’s Holy Mark to Cecile.
- Head to the boss room.
- Defeat Fallen Archbishop Andreus.
Talk to Cecile.
From Stargazer, talk to Cecile on the left and she will ask you to get the Archbishop’s Holy Mark.
Drop down the hole and defeat the Dimensional Butterfly.
Once you reach the passage, there will be a hole in the floor that you can drop down to.
Proceed carefully as stepping on the raised floor will trigger a trap and arrows will shoot out from the wall. Defeat the Dimensional Butterly here to get an Advance Crank. Then, head for the nearby treasure chest to get a Legion Caliber.
After collecting these items, go up the ladder and return to the passage.
Proceed down the aisle.
The passageway is a very difficult place to fight, with decay being thrown from above and decay slime falling from the ceiling. You should also avoid falling through the hole as you proceed.
Defeat the mid-boss past the decay water area.
Follow the path to reach a decay water area. Run towards the stairs and take down the mid boss in the next area.
If you ride the elevator in the area where the mid-boss appeared, you will arrive at the terrace to find Alidoro. You can trade boss Ergos with him to obtain special weapons and Amulets if you want.
Get the Archbishop’s Holy Mark in the Archbishop’s Room.
The Archbishop’s Room is at the top of the stairs on the right side of the mid-boss area. Get the Archbishop’s Holy Mark that Cecile needs and the Workshop Union Reinforcement Frame in the safe.
Turn the chain to open the shortcut.
Turn left on the way to the Archbishop’s Room. Then, go down the ladder at the back and turn the chain to open a shortcut.
Give the Archbishop’s Holy Mark to Cecile.
Give the Archbishop’s Holy Mark to Cecile to get an Attribute Resistance Ampoule.
Head to the boss room.
Go to the right from the shortcut that you opened to reach the boss room.
Defeat Fallen Archbishop Andreus.
- Fire attribute is effective on the boss.
- Position yourself on the right to avoid the boss’ right hand slam attack.
- The boss’ tongue attack travels vertically and horizontally.
- Avoid the Fury Attack by running away (backwards).
- Ignore the main body during the second phase and aim for the back.
- Use a Perfect Guard to counter the boss’ Fury Attack when it stands up.
- Move under the boss’ head to avoid its laser attack.
- Watch out for the rush attack after the boss’ dialogue and roar.
- Activate the Stargazer.
Fire attribute is effective on the boss.
Archbishop Andreus is weak to fire. Advance builds can use Salamander Dagger to deal increased damage to the boss while other builds can resort to using the Flame Grindstone to exploit the boss’ weakness.
Position yourself on the right to avoid the boss’ right hand slam attack.
The boss’ right hand slam attack can be avoided without evading by positioning yourself on the right side.
The boss’ tongue attack travels vertically and horizontally.
The boss’ decay tongue attacks consist of two vertical and horizontal strikes. Try to Perfect Guard them to avoid taking damage.
Avoid the Fury Attack by running away (backwards).
The boss Fury Attack (first phase) can be avoided by dashing backwards.
Ignore the main body during the second phase and aim for the back.
During the second phase of the fight, aim for the boss’ back part (instead of the one where the Archbishop’s body is exposed) as this side uses a moveset that is very similar to the first phase (with only a few new moves added).
Use a Perfect Guard to counter the boss’ Fury Attack when it stands up.
The Fury attack during the second phase cannot be avoided by running away. You will have to Perfect Guard it to avoid taking damage.
Move under the boss’ head to avoid its laser attack.
After gathering enough energy, the boss will fire a laser. If you see the pool of energy appear, move below the head to avoid the attack.
Watch out for the rush attack after the boss’ dialogue and roar.
When the boss’ HP is low, Andreus’ will speak before roaring. It will then suddenly perform a rushing attack that you should guard or evade.
If you go to the place where Cecile was after defeating Archbishop Andreus, you will find the letter Cecile’s Confession and the record Divine Service. Reading Cecil’s Confession will earn you the “Prayer” gesture.
Return to Hotel Krat and talk to Venigni to receive the Ergo Wavelength Decoder.
If you chose “Hotel Krat” when talking to Alidor before, he will move to Hotel Krat at the left side of the first floor. This lets you exchange boss Ergo for special weapons and amulets at the hotel.
Activate the Stargazer.
Touch the Stargazer at the Archbishop’s Altar to activate it.
