Stat Soft Caps Guide for Lies of P
What are stat soft caps?
A recurring mechanic in most Soulborne games that Lies of P takes inspiration from is being able to manually allocate points to your character’s various stats to increase their performance in battle.
Eventually, a stat’s value may become so high that the bonuses gained for the parameters they affect start to go down as you continue to allot points into it. This specific value threshold (breakpoint) where a stat begins to give you diminishing returns (making them generally not worth the investment anymore) is called the stat soft cap.
What are the Stat Soft Caps in Lies of P?
Varied across all stats.
The stat soft caps for all stats in Lies of P appear to be at varying value thresholds. Through testing, the attack scaling stats Motivity and Technique have a soft cap of 40 while Advance is at 30. Capacity, meanwhile, seems to give you a constant increase of 3 in equipment load limit throughout the game (no soft cap).
We are still in the process of testing out the values of the other stats in the game so please check back from time to time for updates. Meanwhile, you can use the quick tips below as a general guide when investing points into any of the various stats in the game.
- Aim for at least 20 Vitality (optimum max HP).
- Vigor should be raised to at least 10, with additional points invested for using heavier weapon combos and special weapons.
- You can increase Capacity throughout the game as you always gain +3 load limit (no soft cap).
- Motivity and Technique should not go higher than 40.
- Advance should not go higher than 30.

How to Respec Stats
Available after defeating Champion Victor in Chapter 7.
You can respec stats at the Saintess of Mercy Statue that only becomes accessible after beating Champion Victor at the Grand Exhibition Gallery during Chapter 7. Once you beat the boss, talk to Simon Manus to get the key to the indoor garden east of the boss area to find the saintess’ statue.
Stat reset requires Gold Coin Fruits.
You will need to use Gold Coin Fruits to reset your stats as well as your Legion Arm and P-Organ upgrades. The item can be obtained from from the Cold Coin Fruit Tree that you find after meeting Giangio at the Rabbit Brotherhood’s den.
