Square Enix to Release Final Fantasy VIII Remastered This Year
Final Fantasy 8 is finally getting a re-release in the form of a remastered edition as announced by Square Enix during their E3 2019 panel. The remastered edition will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this year.
According to Square Enix:
Coming in 2019, FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered marks the 20th Anniversary of its original release with a new visual refresh that brings the game’s beloved story to modern platforms: Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. With overhauled visuals, see your favorite characters come to life like never before!
Square Enix already released the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One port versions of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X/X-2, and Final Fantasy 12: TZA earlier this year. Now, it’s Squall and the rest of his party’s turn to keep Final Fantasy and JRPG fans occupied while waiting for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on March 3, 2020.
