A new organization called the Aether Foundation makes its first appearance in Pokémon Sun & Moon. Unlike the sinister Team Skull however, the Aether Foundation is a charity foundation that treats and protects injured Pokémon, while conducting research activities at the same time.
About the Ether Foundation
- The Aether Foundation works out of an artificial island called Aether Paradise, located in the center of the Alola Region.
- Aside from protecting injured and sick Pokémon, the Foundation also conducts research activities on Aether Paradise.
- It appears that the main character in Pokémon Sun & Moon will be able to travel to Aether Paradise during the adventure.
The Aether Foundation was apparently established to be a good organization in the game, with their protection and relief activities for Pokémon putting them against the sinister Team Skull.

Lusamine
Beautiful and kind Lusamine is the president of the Aether Foundation, and loves all types of Pokémon.
Faba
He serves as Lusamine’s second-in-command, and is proud of his job. His signature accessory are his green sunglasses.
Wicke
She is the deputy chief of Aether Paradise Island, and works as Faba’s assistant. Her employees love her because of her kind and caring personality.
Aether Foundation Employees
They protect and take care of Pokémon, and wear different kinds of uniforms depending on which department they belong.
Ultra Beasts
The Aether Foundation is said to be conducting research on powerful creatures called Ultra Beasts. In particular, the organization is said to be researching on an Ultra Beast called “UB-01”.
- Ultra Beasts are very powerful and can pose a threat to both people and Pokémon.
- It is unknown whether Ultra Beasts are a kind of Pokémon or something different.
- More than one kind of Ultra Beast has been confirmed for the game.
- UB-01 has a beautiful, glass-like appearance and is said to move like a little girl.
