Posts spreading through social media networks  suggest that Paralysis in Pokemon Sun and Moon only reduces a Pokemon’s speed by 50% instead of 75%. This means that players now need to find alternate ways to counter quick attackers like Speed Boost Blaziken and Dragon Dance Salamence.

According to a user on Twitter, a Greninja with a 130 speed rating affected by Paralysis was able to strike first against a Pikachu with 58 Speed. However, a Pikachu with a 67 speed rating was able to strike first against a Paralyzed Speed 130 Greninja. To summarize this information:

① Greninja (Speed 130) VS Pikachu (Speed 58)
→If Greninja is affected by Paralysis, Greninja will strike first against Pikachu.
=This proves that Paralysis does not reduce the Pokemon’s speed by 75%.

②Greninja (Speed 130) VS Pikachu (Speed 67)
→If Greninja is affected by Paralysis, Pikachu will strike first against Greninja.
=From this we can predict that the Pokemon’s speed is only reduced by 50%.
