The “change outfit” feature in Pokémon started in Pokémon X & Y, wherein you could change your clothes in front of the mirror in your house or in dressing rooms located in various clothing stores in the region. Changing clothes in Pokemon is very popular among fans.
Unfortunately, in the next Pokémon release, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, this feature was not available due to the fact that it is a remake of an earlier Pokémon game.
However, due to popular demand, changing outfits is now possible in Pokémon Sun & Moon!

As shown in a commercial produced by Nintendo, the avatar shown changes outfits every now and then. This commercial actually confirms that the player can really change clothes in the upcoming game!
Since Alola’s environment is similar to Hawaii, the clothes in the region could also be similar to the outfits that you can typically find in Hawaii like a Hula costume or a swimsuit!
