Before you begin your adventure, you would first have to choose whether you want to be a male or female in the game. You would also be given a choice to change the hero’s appearance. After you have chosen, you will then find out how you got into the Alola region!
You have just moved to the region with your mother, and there you would meet several important people that will introduce you to the joy of Pokemon. From here on, you would need to defeat Trial Captains and prove that you are the best Pokémon trainer in Alola!
Professor Kukui

In almost every Pokémon game, there would be a professor who will give you your very first Pokémon and gives you pointers in becoming a Pokémon trainer, and for Pokémon Sun & Moon, our professor would be Professor Kukui!
As always, the names of Pokémon professors are often derived from tree names, and for Professor Kukui, his name is derived from the Kukui Nut Tree which is commonly found in Hawaii, an island where the Alola region is based on.
Professor Kukui specializes in researching about the intricacies of Pokémon moves!
Lillie

Lillie is Professor Kukui’s lab assistant. She is a very mysterious girl who loves to read books.
Her personality is opposite to Professor Kukui’s, which gives a perfect balance in their partnership. Also, while Professor Kukui loves the art of Pokémon battles, Lillie is not very fond of it.
Lillie will play a vital role in the game’s story.
Hau

Hau serves both as a partner and a rival for the hero in Pokémon Sun & Moon. He’s the same age as your character, and he will immediately become your friend during your first meeting.. One thing that you will first notice in Hau is that he loves to eat, especially the malasada, a famous Alolan delicacy.

The cover art for Pokémon Sun & Moon depicts the two legendary Pokémon in Alola: Solgaleo and Lunala. These legendaries perfectly represent the Sun and the Moon, two planetary objects that determine whether it is day or night on earth. Will these legendary Pokémon affect the story in the game? If so, will the story be about the day/night cycle? Let’s find out when Pokémon Sun & Moon comes out on November 18!
