Starting the journey live on Twitch

Similar to all Pokémon games, there is a tutorial at the first part of the game. Here you get to meet the professor of that region to introduce you to the world of Pokémon. For this game, the professor for the Alola Region is Dr. Kukui. And at the start of the game, you get to choose your starter Pokémon. You get to choose between the grass-type Rowlet, the fire-type Litten, and the water-type Popplio!

So the story begins…

After choosing one’s Pokémon, now begins the journey to venture in the grass. And as long as there is grass, there are wild pokémon. If you choose the Litten, let the Electric/Insect-type Grubbin take out those Water and Grass-type Pokémon. If Rowlet’s your choice, capture a Wingull that has Water Gun for Fire-types and Peck for Insect-types. Second generation Ledyba (evolves into Ledian to learn its signature Comet Punch) also makes an appearance as one of the first wild Pokémon to encounter. Lastly spotted on Twitch.TV, Caterpie from the First Generation which evolves into the Bug/Flying Type Butterfree learns Confusion to help blaze your way through other trainers.

Of course like any Pokémon game, there is the rival who picks the starter Pokémon that is strong against the starter you chose. Ha’u is the default name of your rival for the Alola Region. He’s not much of a challenge however. If you’ve captured many Pokémon in advance, he won’t be a problem.

While in Alola, there are also a variety of Pokémon trainers. Trainers such as Youngsters and Lass trainers are more than eager to challenge you to battle. Thus, training your Pokémon won’t be so hard. Before you know it, you could hit the second evolution before reaching the first major boss battle.

That’s all there is for spoilers! But don’t worry, Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released on November 18, 2016!
