Using Aerodactyl

Belonging to the Tier Base 130 Speed, Aerodactyl cannot be overlooked. However its strong point is compensated by its frail defenses. This can be remedied by equipping it with a Focus Sash so that it can secure at least a turn or two before fainting. It works as an alternative attacker rather than the main damage dealer due to its access to Stealth Rock and high base Speed.

If given the Mega Stone, it can further increase its Attack and Speed stats.

Even if it cannot use other held items when it’s already been given a Mega Stone, it still functions effectively.

Nature Jolly/Naive/Hasty
Effort Values 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed

  • Rock, Flying STAB moves complemented by coverage moves support Ground-Type allies.
  • Since it outruns several Pokemon due to its speed, it could deal powerful damage if it can maintain a type advantage.

Countering Aerodactyl

Recommended Pokemon are those with high speed and wide movepool.

Other options include Ground-Type and Steel-Type as these resist its STAB moves.

Since its durability is weak, Pokemon that can take advantage of its weak Sp. Defense can switch-in with relative ease. One of them is Rotom-Wash which resists its Flying-Type Moves and return with a strong STAB move.
