Using Froslass
Base stats-wise, Frosslass’ Speed is the highest, this makes it the fastest Pokemon that has a Ghost-Ice Typing. One of the weaknesses of Ice-Type Pokemon are Fighting-Types, but since it is also a Ghost-Type, this nullifies its effect allowing it to come against Fighting-Types that normally Ice-Type Pokemon cannot do.
It has access to several Special Moves, among them include Electric-Type Moves that provide great coverage given that it allows it to deal a considerable amount of damage to Water-Types that resist its Ice-Type STAB moves.
In addition, there are several Non-Damaging Moves such as Destiny Bond, or use Switcheroo with a Choice Specs or Choice Scarf to incapacitate an opponent.

Fitting Froslass on your team
■ Special Attacker set
Nature | Timid |
---|---|
Effort Values | 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed |
Held Item | Focus Sash/Choice Specs/Life Orb |
Recommended Moves | Blizzard or Ice Beam/Shadow Ball |
- Apart from a Timid Nature, a Naive or Hasty Nature may be desired if Ice Shard is preferred to replace one of its other moves.
- Hex is effective especially if the team has already inflicted a Status Condition on the opponent. (However, if Froslass fulfills a role of a dedicated Sp. Attacker, it should use Shadow Ball instead since this deals more damage than a Thunder Wave + Hex combo. In addition it only takes up 1 move slot as opposed to 2.)
Countering Froslass
Although Froslass is fast and has good typing, it Defenses are frail. This is worsened by its possession of several weaknesses, this makes it a target to several offensive threats.
Be wary of its Destiny Bond as it might surprise one of your dedicated Attackers.
Similarly, its STAB Hex is problematic once your Pokemon has been afflicted with a Status condition such as: a burn from a connected Will-O-Wisp, or paralysis from a Thunder Wave beforehand. Therefore it is not recommended to use a Pokemon that cannot sustain these conditions.
