Swalot is a Poison-type defensive wall. Because of its large HP pool and varied attacks, Swalot can buy time for those who are trying to revive their dead team. This pokemon is a physical defense wall and can take in a load of physical attacks. However, Swalot is not often times used due to its limited capacity to defend against types that its strong against. Some pokemon such as the Knock Out Simipour, the Poliwrath, and Ninetails will have a hard time fighting Swalot.

Ability Sticky Hold/Liquid Ooze
EffortValues HP 252/ SP. DEF 252
Held Item Black Sludge/Sitrus Berry/Chesto Berry

Since there is no weakness besides the Ground Type and Psychic Type, it’s possible to constantly boost its defense using Amnesia and Acid Armour to prolong the battle. When inflicting damage, have Swalot use Toxic and Yawn to prevent the opponent from attacking. However, if you wish to end the battle quickly, you can also use Destiny Bond.

Belch Type

Name Description
Nature Modest
Ability Gluttony/Sticky Hold
Effort Value SP ATK 252
SP DEF 252
DEF 252
Item Held Sitrus Berry/Petaya Berry

Using this build would require full dependence on the Belch move. This move accumulates over time which would require to take some damage. Have Swalot hold the Sitrus Berry to heal up so he can utilize the Belch move. While Belch deals a large amount of damage, some berries may not give the same amount of damage. Make sure and experiment with all sorts of berries to get Swallot to use his Belch move effectively.
