Chapter 8 Walkthrough for Lies of P

Grand Exhibition Conference Room – Barren Swamp Entrance

Talk to the Red Fox in front of the cable car.

Talk to the Red Fox in front of the cable car and give him the Gold Coin Fruit to receive the Quixotic Record and the Beg Gesture in return. After interacting with the Red Fox, you can now get on the tram and proceed to the next area.

Repair the Stargazer.

Once you get off the tram, go straight ahead until you see the Barren Swamp Entrance Stargazer. Repair the Stargazer and proceed to the next area.

Barren Swamp Entrance – Barren Swamp

Get the Defense parts inside a treasure chest.

If you get past the first elite enemy, follow the path downward and take the turn near a cart. Defeat the enemies and open the chest to get the “Belford Superior Insulation Converter”.

Defeat the Mad Clown Puppet.

Cross the corrupted river and keep moving forward to avoid the rocks falling from above. Head up the hill, and if you see a campfire ahead, stop for a moment and wait for the puppets to fall down from the slope on your right side. Continue moving forward and prepare to fight another Mad Clown Puppet. This Mad Clown Puppet still has the same move sets as the one you fought in Chapter 6, and the only difference is that it uses Electric element this time.

Cross the bridge and enter the tower.

To get to the tower, first climb the slope and then cross the bridge. However, as you run through the bridge, the middle will collapse. To reach the other side, walk along the edges carefully and avoid falling down.

Climb the tower and open the shortcut outside.

Climb up the tower and head outside. Once outside, pull the lever to open the shortcut.

Defeat the elite enemy and open the treasure chest.

Go back to the tower and look for a ladder on the side. Climb up the ladder and defeat the elite enemy waiting at the top. Once you have defeated the enemy, open the treasure chest to get a “Recharged Amulet”.

Give the Four-fingered Gloves to Alidoro.

To find Alidoro, go down the hill and then turn left. Talk to him and give him the “Four-fingered Gloves” that you received from Eugenie. After that, return to Eugenie and inform her that you have finished her request.

Enter the cave at the end of the corrupted river.

Once you reach the corrupted river, the cannon at the top of the tower will shoot at you. Hide behind the covers and move fast to avoid the cannonballs. Head towards the cave at the end of the river and activate the Stargazer inside.

Barren Swamp – Barren Swamp Ravine

Get the Fancy Venigni Collection on the right side of the tower.

Proceed to the right side of the tower after making your way to the area with corrupted water. As you explore the area, watch out for the puppets and another cannon that will shoot at you from the top of the tower. You can get the “Fancy Vinigni Collection” if you open the treasure chest on the right side.

Defeat the Puppets of the Future.

The two Puppets of the Future will drop Quartz once they are defeated. However, there is yet another cannon that will fire at you when you are in this area. You can protect yourself from the cannon by using your enemies as cover. With that in mind, move into a position where the cannon won’t hit you but hit your enemies instead.

Defeat the Dimensional Butterflies.

There are five Dimensional Butterflies in the area with pools of water. When the light turns red, it is an indication that there are Dimensional Butterflies nearby, making it easy to find them.

Defeat the Owl Doctor.

From the cave entrance, go to the left side and enter the hut. Climb down the ladder and prepare to fight the Owl Doctor. Once the boss is defeated, it will drop the “Owl Doctor’s Mask”.

Head to the Barren Swamp Ravine.

Head towards the slope to reach the Barren Swamp Ravine. Be careful where you step, as it is easy to fall in this area. The middle of the bridge will also collapse, so cross through the edge to reach the other side.

Repair the Stargazer and open the shortcut.

You can find the Stargazer at the top of the ladder, near where the cave and the bridge meet. In the same area, there is also a shortcut door that leads straight to the Barren Swamp Ravine.

Barren Swamp – Barren Swamp Bridge

Cross the bridge on the side and find the Legion Caliber inside a treasure chest.

Climb down the ladder and cross the bridge on the side. Then, open the treasure chest to get a “Legion Caliber”.

Defeat the Dimensional Butterfly while avoiding the rolling boulders.

Go up the slope while avoiding the rolling boulders, and defeat the Dimensional Butterfly along the way. Keep going until you encounter another Dimensional Butterfly.

Defeat the Dimensional Butterfly and open the shortcut.

After you have made it all the way to the bottom, drop down to the platform below and defeat the Dimensional Butterfly that will appear before you. Continue moving forward until you find the ladder that leads back to the Stargazer. Lower the ladder down to open a shortcut.

Open the treasure chest behind the bear.

Go to the left side and defeat the bear guarding the treasure chest. Once the bear is defeated, open the treasure chest to get the “Arch Disruption Cartridge”.

Get the weapon inside a hut.

Go inside the hut on your right and open the treasure chest inside to get the “City Longspear”.

Defeat the elite enemy and get the amulet.

As you make your way up the slope, an elite enemy will appear before you. Defeat it to get the “Leaping Amulet”.

Open the shortcut that leads to the tower.

You will come across an intersection between the road and the tower. Enter the tower first and pull the chain to open the shortcut.

Cross the bridge and talk to Rookie Explorer Hugo on the right side.

After the shortcut has been unlocked, proceed to the next area by climbing up the ladder. After you’ve crossed the bridge, take the first right and look for Rookie Explorer Hugo. Talk to him to get the “Old Cryptic Vessel”.

Repair the Stargazer.

After talking to Hugo, proceed to the other side and repair the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer.

Fire attribute is effective during the first phase, and electric attribute is effective during the second phase.

This boss has two phases. The first phase starts as soon as you enter the boss area. The boss will be referred to as the “Green Monster of the Swamp” throughout the first phase, and its weakness will be fire. Once you have depleted its HP, a cutscene will occur in which the boss will merge with a puppet that resembles the Scrapped Watchman. During the second phase, the name of the boss will change to “Puppet-Devouring Green Monsters”, and its weakness will shift to electric attacks.

Prepare to guard when the boss’ starts to dig and dive underground.

When the boss dives underground, it will suddenly move towards you and launch a thrust from the ground. This attack is difficult to avoid, but if you move far enough, the boss will pop out of the ground. However, if you are too close to the boss and won’t be able to move away from its range, prepare to guard the attack and utilize the Guard Regain to recover some of your lost HP.

The boss’s scream indicates that it will launch 4 consecutive attacks.

If the boss stands up and screams, it is an indication that the boss is about to launch four consecutive attacks. These attacks, on the other hand, give you the opportunity to utilize the “Perfect Guard”. However, the third attack may catch you off guard, as it comes at a slower pace than the previous attacks.

Watch out for the tentacles.

If you see the boss shaking its head, you can either step back to move out of the tentacles’ range or block the incoming attack.

During the second phase, the boss will inherit some of the Scrapped Watchman’s moveset.

In the second phase, the boss will use a three-hit attack similar to the Scrapped Watchman’s attack.

Watch out for the boss’ third jump.

In addition, the boss is capable of jumping attacks. While the first two jumps may seem easy to dodge or block, the third jump is a Fury Attack and should be avoided to prevent taking huge damage.

Guard when the boss charges towards you.

At some point during the second phase, the boss will charge at you. This particular attack allows you to deal massive damage to the boss, as it gives you an opportunity to counterattack and temporarily stagger the boss. Try to “Perfect Guard” when the boss launches this charge attack at you. Doing this will stop the boss’s attack and make it flinch at the same time, allowing you to land Fatal Attacks afterwards.

Avoid the grab attack.

The boss’ grab attack deals huge damage and inflicts Decay on you if it manages to hit you. If the boss stands and raises its tentacles, it will send its tentacles to grab you. To avoid this, keep moving sideways if you see it preparing to grab you.

Talk to Alidoro and return to Hotel Krat.

Repair the Barren Swamp Nest Stargazer and talk to Alidoro.
