Tips: Battling Pokemon Trainer Sina

The recommended type-advantageous Pokemon against Sina’s team are: Fire, Fighting, and Steel-Types.

An example of a good Steel-Type is Aegislash. Since Lilligant and Mandibuzz are troublesome with Teeter Dance and Swagger respectively, items that can remove status conditions such as Lum Berry, Persim Berry, etc. should be equipped. Glaceon might be problematic if it has Mirror Coat, therefore a good workaround is to strike first with Shadow Sneak before finishing it off with a STAB Flash Cannon. To make matters worse, some of her Pokemon’s moves depend on luck such as: Abomasnow’s Sheer Cold, Glaceon’s Snow Cloak and Bright Powder, while Mandibuzz has Air Slash.

Other notable threats are the following Pokemon that rely on speed based status moves as in the case of: Sina’s Oranguru which has Trick Room, Lilligant’s Quiver Dance, and Drampa’s Glare. Since most of these Pokemon depend on their buffs before attacking, it is recommended to take them out early whenever you can.

A useful Fire-Type Pokemon is Talonflame with the hidden ability Gale Wings. This allows it to ignore Trick Room’s and Quiver Dance’s effects provided that it is at full HP. Whereas another alternative is to use Tapu Koko since it is immune to Drampa’s Glare.

As an ice-type specialist, most of the Pokemon on Sina’s roster benefit from the effects of Hail, therefore using Pokemons such as Torkoal and Gigalith with its Hidden Ability to change the weather is effective as well.
