What is “The Big Three”?
In the Pokémon series, there are the first 3 Pokémon usually introduced at the beginning of the game, these Pokémon are often called “the big three” or “starter Pokémon”.
The player picks one of these three Pokémon as their partner to go with them on an adventure to catch or battle other Pokémon across the region.
The big three Pokémon for each main game in the series are designated to three types, namely Grass, Fire, and Water. In addition, the usual special abilities that these Pokémon get at the start are Overgrow (for Grass), Blaze (for Fire), and Torrent (for Water). You can increase the power of these abilities by leveling up through Pokémon battles.
The most special attribute of the Big Three Pokémon is that they evolve twice, and when they reach their final evolution, their stats are drastically higher than most Pokémon which makes them a reliable partner throughout the whole game.
