A look at the Starter Pokémon’s second forms!

Meet the Starters!

In the “Pokémon” series, there are three Pokémon often introduced at the start of the game, these Pokémon are known as the “starter Pokemon”. You would have to pick one of the three starter Pokémon to serve as your partner towards your journey to capturing and battling other Pokémon in the game’s region.

In Pokémon Sun & Moon, the 3 starter Pokémon are named Rowlet, a grass-type owl Pokémon; Litten, a fire-type cat Pokémon; and Popplio, a water-type sea lion Pokémon.

A starter Pokémon evolves two times, and for our three Alolan starter Pokémon, their second and final evolution have just been revealed recently! Let’s take a closer look into their second evolution!

Dartrix

Category: Blade Quill Pokémon
Type: Grass/Flying
Height: 2′04″
Weight:35.3 lbs.
Special Ability: Overgrow

As the second form of Rowlet, Dartrix can also attack enemies using its wings, however, the feathers inside the wings are now much sharper than the feathers found on Rowlet, and it could deal more damage than its previous form.

Torracat

Category: Fire Cat Pokémon
Type: Fire
Height: 2′04″
Weight: 55.1 lbs.
Special Ability: Blaze

When Litten evolves into Torracat, it becomes much bigger and much stronger. Besides its bigger physique, Torracat also has a bell-like object attached to its neck, this bell is a sac that can produce flames which Torracat can use to attack opponents.

Brionne

Type: Water

Weight: 38.6 lbs.
Special Ability: Torrent

Popplio evolves into Brionne, who now sports a skirt that flutters when it dances! Brionne lures the opponent with its mesmerizing dance, and while the enemy is in trance, Brionne slaps the enemy with exploding balloons! Brionne produces these balloons by dancing.
