Fitting Beautifly on your team

■Basic type

Nature Timid or Modest
Ability Swarm or Rivalry
Effort Values HP・Sp.Atk・Speed
Held Item Focus Sash/Life Orb
Recommended Moves Stun Spore/Bug Buzz

· Beautifly can dish out strong Special Attack Damage for a Bug Type.

· In addition, there are only a number of Bug Type Pokémon that can run Stun Spore. This sets it apart from other Bug Types, allowing it to cripple fast Pokémon with paralysis.

· Capitalizing on running a speed-inducing Timid nature (+252 Speed), Beautifly can make use of Quiver Dance to alleviate its Base 65 Speed making it capable of outrunning max speed invested base 120 speed opponents.

Countering Beautifly

Beautifly doesn’t have much to boast because of its mediocre base speed and the only thing to be wary of is if it was able to set-up with Quiver Dance.

The opponent is likely to carry Stun Spore to buy time in maximizing its chances to sweep, this is important to take note of once the move has been revealed.

A practical way to handle most opposing Beautifly would be to make sure that your active Pokémon are capable of dealing multiple hits to it since Focus Sash sets are popular. Generally, there is not much to worry about since Beautifly is still after all, a Bug Type and these are generally susceptible to most attacks because of their poor stat distributions making them easy to counter once they are kept in check right from the start.
