※ Similar to battling Wild Pokemon, the chance of obtaining Silver Bottle Cap is increased when fishing at a rare spot.

It is noted that fishing at the rare spot at the Steelix shaped boat in Seafolk Village has a 10% chance to obtain the Silver Bottle Cap.

How to distinguish rare spots

f3

  • When fishing, bubbles can be observed on water and these indicate the rare spot. Rare Spots are fixed and do not change locations.
  • When fishing in the rare spot, the spawn rate is different. This makes certain low spawn rate Pokemon to appear more often.
  • Similar to the dexnav from the past game, approaching a rare spot by dashing can cause the bubbles to disappear. It is recommended to move carefully when approaching the rare spot.
After you have successfully fished at the rare spot, the bubbles on the water will vanish. To make the bubbles reappear, you have to move one tile away and return.

About other Fishing Rod

  • Unlike the older games, the Super Rod and the Good Rod do not exist in Pokemon Sun and Moon.
  • If you want to efficiently catch rare Pokemon, fishing at a rare spot is recommended.
