Super Mario Odyssey - Footage Shows Cascade Kingdom Gameplay: News

A videos for the Cascade Kingdom gameplay in Super Mario Odyssey was recently published online. Let's take a look at the revealed footage for the game.

Mario Cascade Kingdom Gameplay

In a video recently uploaded by Game Informer in their YouTube Channel, they showcased several Cascade Kingdom Mario gameplay footages for the upcoming game Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch.

One of the highlights of the video is the player capturing what appears to be a T-Rex sleeping on top of a hill at 3:45. Cappy comments about the dinosaur saying, “Goodness! Look at the size of that thing!”

Mario then proceed to throw his cap directly at the T-Rex, which makes him able to control the gigantic dinosaur. The funny side of the gameplay shows that the T-Rex not only sports Mario’s signature cap, but also his famous mustache.

T-Rex Gameplay

As shown at 3:55, Mario can move the dinosaur using the Left analog stick. Players can also hold the Y button to make the dinosaur dash. The T-Rex can also attack using the B button.

The T-Rex gameplay footage also shows the dinosaur destroying weak square boulders in the area at 3:56. This hints that the T-Rex is needed in order for Mario to advance from a blocked path.

At 4:04, it seen that the T-Rex can also beat Chain Chomps pretty easily, a feat that Mario cannot do on his own.

Boss Fight

Beside the T-Rex Cascade Kingdom gameplay footage, Game Informer also showed the main boss fight in the Cascade Kingdom at 6:30. The boss is one of the Broodals, the secondary antagonists of the game. Although her name is not unknown and the entire boss fight was not shown, Game Informer still covered a bit of gameplay on how to defeat the boss.

The footage showed Mario capturing the Broodal’s pet Gold Chain Chomp at 7:09, which Mario utilizes to deal damage to the boss. The boss fight marked the end of the Cascade Kingdom gameplay footage.

Super Mario Odyssey releases on October 27, 2017 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
