Enter the Lush Jungle area through Route 5. Captain Mallow will meet you at the entrance and asks you to find four ingredients for her. She will give you the Forage Bag and hints that you will need Stoutland’s help to complete the trial. Let’s find the four ingredients!
Tiny Mushroom
Go left from where Captain Mallow is standing. At the next fork in the road, go left again until you reach the dead end. The Tiny Mushroom is in front of the brown mushrooms sprouting ahead. If you cannot find it, search the ground using Stoutland.
A Lv.22 Shiinotic will attack you once you get the Tiny Mushroom. After defeating the Shiinotic, Mallow will appear and talk to you a little.
Mago Berry
After getting the Tiny Mushroom, return to the fork in the road, and go the other direction. Enter the next area, go around the grassy area for now, and head straight for the shaking tree. A Lv.21 Fomantis will jump out at you.
After taking care of the Fomantis, you will see an object sparkling on the ground. It isn’t the Mago Berry, but Honey. The real Mago Berry is a little way off to the left from the Honey. Use the Stoutland in the corner to find the Berry.
Mallow will appear again after you find the Berry.
Revival Herb
Leave the area where you found the Mago Berry, then cross the grass to the other path. Head north and enter the next area.
The next area is covered in tall grass, but finding the Revival Herb is really easy. Simply find the patch of short grass off to the left to get the Revival Herb.
You can also get TM86 (Grass Knot) by pressing A at the tree with the hole. The TM is inside a clearing behind the tree. Finally, use Stoutland to search the area right of the signpost and get a Hyper Potion.
Miracle Seed
Leave a where you found the Revival Herb, heading into the center of the Lush Jungle. Stay on the path as it climbs left to enter the next area. Break through the rocky outcrops using Tauros, then inspect the spot where the last rock stood to get the Miracle Seed.
Mallow will appear, and tell you to return to the entrance of Lush Jungle. Once you’re there, Trial Captains Kiawe and Mallow will arrive, each bringing items that Mallow needs. Mallow is going to summon the Totem Pokémon of Lush Jungle!
Mallow combines the ingredients that you have collected. You need to press A repeatedly to pound the ingredients. Out of nowhere, the Totem Pokémon Lurantis appears!
Battle Tips: Totem Pokémon Lurantis
Lurantis will be a handful because its aura gives its Speed stat a huge boost. This means that for most of the time, Lurantis will get hits in before you can. It also has the tendency to spam the damaging Solar Blade attack on your Pokémon. Use strong Fire-type and Poison-type attacks to inflict as much damage as you can. Don’t let up until it goes down, because Lurantis also has Synthesis, which restores any lost HP greatly.
Totem Lurantis will call on either a Castform or Trumbeak during the battle, but there may be instances where it will call both allies.
Use a team with strong Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying or Bug-type members to take advantage of Lurantis’ natural weakness to those types. Add a Fighting-type member to go against Castform, and an Electric, Ice or Rock Pokémon to take on Trumbeak.
Defeating the Totem Lurantis gives you the Grass-type Z Crystal called Grassium-Z along with ten Nest Balls.
Professor Kukui also arrives, and gives you TM67 (Smart Strike), and tells you to follow him to the Dimensional Research Lab in Heahea City.
Exit Lush Jungle, go through Route 5, Paniola Ranch and Route 6 on your way back to Heahea City.
