Other adventures in Akala Island
Just like in Melemele Island, there’s still a lot to do before leaving Akala and going over to Ula’ula Island. If you say “No” to Faba’s invitation, you can explore a bit more of the island and get a few more items.
Head around the fountain inside the hotel. There are some trainers inside, but they won’t really be challenging you. Defeat the man with the Rockruff to get a Metronome.
You will see a couple of girls with a Machamp as their golf caddy, but the Pokemon seems uncomfortable. Challenge them to a tandem battle to get TM45 (Attract). The girls will be using a pair of Oricorio, so it shouldn’t be too hard for you to defeat them with the right Pokemon.
Go back to Heahea City and visit Professor Burnet at the Dimensional Research Lab. She will give you the Reveal Glass as a gift for defeating Olivia. The Reveal Glass changes the shape of the Pokemon Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.
Fly back to Route 9 and enter the police station. Chat with the police officer at the desk. He will give you a Focus Band.
Akala Island Trial Captain Battles
Enter Konikoni City and visit Captain Mallow’s restaurant. Olivia will appear as you are ordering, and join you for the meal. Afterwards, she will give you her Heart Scales and pay for the food.
If it’s daytime, you can challenge Mallow upstairs. She will run off to the Lush Jungle; you need to find a Wimpod scurrying about to make her appear and fight you. Bring along a Fire/Poison/Flying/Ice team to make things easy.

Enter Captain Lana’s home at the northern end of the city. She won’t be there at first, but you will be challenged by her sisters Harper and Sarah. Lana will arrive once you’ve defeated the twins, and challenge you to a battle. Don’t take on Lana just yet though; make sure that you have a Grass, Electric and Ground or Rock-type in your team, as her Pokemon are no pushovers. She will give you 3240 pokedollars for your victory if you win against her.
