Memorial Hill has a lot of hidden items but not enough space to call your Stoutland. Luckily, the items aren’t hard to find, but you will be challenged by several trainers waiting in the area.
Enter Memorial Hill and climb up to the graveyard. Check the second headstone after the entrance to get a Heal Powder. Go up at the corner and defeat the first trainer.
Follow the path to the left, and defeat the Youngster trainer. Pick up the Cleanse Tag in front of the headstone beside him.
Check the headstone to your left to get an Adrenaline Orb. Move up to the headstone near two trees and inspect it to get a Super Repel.
An old lady will challenge you once you reach the outside of the Memorial Hill graveyard. Check the area using Stoutland for a Revival Herb. Go left and around the graveyard, but stop just before the one-way ledge to get a Dusk Ball.
Retrace your steps, but this time, go right instead of left when you reach the area of the old lady. A female trainer is waiting here. Take her out, then check the headstone nearest to her for a Spell Tag.
Walk along the northeast wall of Memorial Hill and enter the area surrounded by trees and a white fence. A Hyper Potion is in the corner.

Return to the path after getting the Hyper Potion from behind the fence. You will see a couple of Aether Foundation employees being challenged by Team Skull gangsters. One of them will spot you looking on, and volunteers you to take on the bad guys. The Grunt will use an Alolan Raticate with a nasty Hyper Fang that deals serious damage, so take it down using Fighting-type moves.
The Aether Foundation employee will invite you to meet him at the Hano Grand Resort, but you have a tussle with Olivia to take care of, so we’ll get to that later.
Take the lower path into Akala Outskirts and ignore the Zygarde cell for now. Defeat the fishing trainer for some quick cash, then pick up TM28 (Leech Life) at the end of the dirt path. There is a rare fishing spot near the location of TM28 that you can try out as well.
Go up the slope. A Black Belt trainer is practicing martial arts here. If you want to take him on, use a Psychic Pokémon since he is equipped with a Hariyama. If you don’t, it’s equally easy to keep out of his sight.
Inspect the grassy areas around the Black Belt trainer for hidden items. Also, you can now get the Zygarde Cell that you spotted earlier. Go on to the north, entering the second section of Akala Outskirts.
A short cutscene will happen, after which you will be challenged by a Team Skull Admin named Plumeria, who will be using a Salandit and a Golbat.
Use Electric-type moves on Golbat and Water-type moves on Salandit to keep the battle short and sweet. Defeating Plumeria will get you a whopping 6240 pokédollars . Plumeria lets you off with a warning for now.
Island Kahuna Encounter: Olivia
Olivia’s Pokémon
Pokémon | Type | Moves |
---|---|---|
Nosepass (Lv.26) | Rock | Thunder Wave Rock Slide |
Lycanroc(Midnight Form)Lv.27 | Rock | Bite Arm Thrust |
Boldore Lv.26 | Rock | Rock Blast |
Battle Tip:Pack a lot of Paralyze Heals to protect against Thunder Wave.
Olivia has a trio of Rock-type Pokémon at her disposal. Her Level 26 Nosepass can use Thunder Wave while her Lv.27 Midnight Form Lycanroc has high priority with its Bite, stopping your offense dead in its tracks through Paralysis or Flinching. This will set up her Boldore (Lv.26) to steamroll over your team if you’re not careful.
Thankfully, Olivia’s team all share the same weakness – being particularly weak against Water- and Grass-type Pokémon. Bring a team with those two types present, and add a Fighting-type to round off your offense. If you have one, an Alolan Dugtrio will take on most of the offense from Olivia’s team with hardly any effects.
If you don’t have a strong enough Ground-type Pokémon in your party, bring a lot of Paralyze Heals along with your Potions for your team to survive Olivia’s attacks.
Winning the battle against Olivia will get you:
- 4320 pokédollars
- Z Crystal Rockium-Z
Before heading out of the Ruins of Life, Hau will arrive to challenge Olivia as well.
