Gameplay

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Gameplay Features

Pokémon Legends: Arceus shares similar elements from previous Pokémon titles while having its own new and unique gameplay systems as well. Here is a quick summary of the game’s unique gameplay:

Capturing a Wild Pokémon

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Capturing Wild Pokemon

In the overworld, some Pokémon will only appear at certain times of day and certain weathers. When a Pokémon spots your character, some will approach while others will run away.

In this game, there are now two options in capturing a wild Pokémon. You can stealthily get close behind a Pokémon and throw a Poke Ball to get it. The other is to command your very own Pokémon to attack and weaken the Wild Pokémon for a better chance of capturing it.

Battling A Wild Pokémon

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Battling Wild Pokemon Agile and Strong Style

The general battle system is still the same but with additional mechanics. When it comes to attacking order, a Pokémon’s stats influence how many battle actions they can do and in what order. This action order mechanic is similar to Final Fantasy X’s conditional Turn-Based battle system.

In addition, the player has a new way to unleash a chosen Pokémon move during battle. This is in the form of Style Moves. Agile Style focuses on action speed and less power while Stron Style emphasizes on power but less action speed.
