What are Alpha Pokemon?
Stronger Variants of Wild Pokemon
Alpha Pokemon (or simply Alphas) are a powerful variant of wild Pokemon encountered in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Alphas are distinguished by their significantly larger size compared to that of their regular species. Their eyes also appear to glow red, making their more threatening.
Obtaining Rare Items from Alphas
Alphas will sometimes drop rare items when they are defeated in battle. Because of this, it is recommended to seek out and battle as many Alphas during Missions and Requests across the Hisui Region.
Alpha Behavior
Alphas are much more formidable in battle and will often attack you on sight. This difference is most clearly observed in Alphas whose normal species will usually run away or hide when it senses danger close by.
It is also assumed that Alphas have higher stats compared to their regular variants. This allows them to perform better in battle if you manage to catch and train them during your adventure.
Alphas may also possess unique moves and abilities, though this has yet to be confirmed in the game.
Battling Alphas
Since Alphas are much stronger than regular Pokemon found in the wild, taking advantage of their weaknesses and using various buffs, debuffs, and status-inflicting moves are likely to be essential when trying to defeat or catch them. Items that temporarily increase your team’s parameters are also recommended.
Knowing when to use Strong and Agile Style moves is also important against Alphas. Try to decide whether to gain the advantage of being able to attack first or deal more damage to drive the battle in your favor.
