Player Name and Gender

After confirming your player character’s name and gender upon starting a new save file, you will no longer be able to change it throughout the rest of the playthrough.

Note that hairstyles can easily be changed by visiting Edith at the Hairdresser in Jubilife Village.

How to Change Hairstyles

Starter Pokemon

You will not be able switch to a different Starter Pokemon once you have chosen it near the beginning of the game. Because of this, try to consider each Starter’s strengths and weaknesses before deciding to pick Cyndaquil, Rowlet, or Oshawott as this will greatly affect the ease or difficulty of various encounters during main story missions and optional research requests.
