Tips: Battling Pokemon Trainer Anabel

At a glance, Anabel’s roster capitalizes on high Attack and Speed on most of her Pokemon. In addition, her party consists of Pokemon of different types making it somewhat difficult to counter.

In terms of strong points, Snorlax possesses exceptional durability which can take advantage of the move Fissure; while her Entei’s STAB Sacred Fire can leave your Pokemon struggling with a burn.

It is difficult to rely on Pokemon with low speed. Therefore, a Pokemon that can outrun Anabel’s party is recommended.. With an advantageous typing, a Hydreigon with a Choice Scarf can score knock-outs to most of Anabel’s roster. Other options include: Mega Salamence, Gyarados or Mega Gyarados, and Dragonite with its Hidden ability Multiscale as these can aim for a sweep when buffed with Dragon Dance.

If you’re addressing her Snorlax, having an Aegislash with Physical Moves like Sacred Sword makes a good contender. Alternatively, a Focus Sash Garchomp can also work as an effective lead whether or not it would be outsped as it can secure a turn to survive and return a powerful STAB move or two. In addition, be wary that it may use the following: Fissure to score a 1-hit knock out, or Body Slam to not only deal decent STAB damage but also hope for paralysis.

Since Snorlax’s Sp. Defense is higher than its Defense, special attack moves will not be very effective. Thus, it is recommended to take it out quickly by launching powerful STAB Physical Fighting-Type Moves, or have your Pokemon equip Fightinium Z and use a Fighting-Type Z-Move.
