All endings guide for Persona 3 Reload (P3RE, Persona 3 Remake), including how to get the good and bad endings, "true" ending, key story events and lock-in choices, all ending-exclusive features and content unlocked, how to get both endings in one playthrough, and other useful tips.

Persona 3 Reload - All Endings Guide

All Endings Guide for Persona 3 Reload (P3RE)

Persona 3 Reload (P3RE) features two (2) possible endings that you can unlock towards the end of your playthrough as detailed in the table below. Note that the key event with Ryoji on 12/31 (December 31 – New Year’s Eve) is the only choice that determines what ending you get and is a point-of-no-return during the main story.

List of All Endings

Ending Key Choices (Requirements) Unique Features Unlocked
Good Ending (True) Let Ryoji live (refuse to kill him) twice when he speaks to you on 12/31 (New Year’s Eve).
  • Adamah Block (Tartarus)
  • Judgement Arcana
  • Additional Story Month (January)
  • From Shadows into Light Achievement (Silver Trophy)
Bad Ending Agree to kill Ryoji when he speaks to you on 12/31 (New Year’s Eve). Immediately clears the game.

How to Get the Good Ending (True Ending)

1 Progress through the main story.
2 On the evening of 12/31 (New Year’s Eve), Ryoji will appear at the SEES dormitory and wait in your room.
3 When the message “You must choose wisely” appears, select “Let Ryoji live.”
4 After Ryoji changes into his true form, select “Let Ryoji live” again. Note that the choice you make in your room where Ryoji waits is permanent and will lock you in to the Good Ending for the rest of the playthrough.
5 Progress through the main story through January and defeat the final boss.
6 Watch the Good Ending.

How to Get the Bad Ending

1 Progress through the main story.
2 On the evening of 12/31 (New Year’s Eve), Ryoji will appear at the SEES dormitory and wait in your room.
3 When the message “You must choose wisely” appears, select “Kill Ryoji.” Note that the choice you make in your room where Ryoji waits is permanent and will immediately begin the Bad Ending sequence.
4 Watch the cutscenes.
5 Watch the Bad Ending.

Ending-Exclusive Features

Good Ending

Additional Story Month (January)

Going for the Good Ending essentially continues the main story by giving you access to an additional month (January) to progress through Social Links, raise your level and Social Stats, fuse Personas, and do other activities in the game. Use this extra time to prepare for the upcoming battle against the game’s true final boss.

Adamah Block (Tartarus)

As part of the main story, Tartarus’ Adamah Block becomes explorable. This is the sixth and final area of Tartarus with new Shadow enemies, obtainable items, and missing people to find. The Adamah Block is also tied to the main story as you will need to reach the “promised place” by 1/31 to clear the main story).

Judgement Arcana

Choosing the Good Ending route is also the only way to gain access to the Judgement Arcana which unlocks several of the game’s strongest Personas such as Michael, Satan, and Messiah. The Good Ending is also the only way to farm the best armor and accessories in the game by repeatedly leveling Messiah until it yields its Heart Item.

From Shadows into Light Achievement (Silver Trophy)

Viewing the Good Ending at the end of the main story unlocks the Shadows into Light achievement (silver trophy). There is no way to obtain this achievement if you decide to kill Ryoji (Bad Ending) on 12/31.

Bad Ending

The Bad Ending does not feature any unique features as you will immediately clear the main story upon choosing to kill Ryoji. This locks you out from any of the additional content found in the Good Ending route in exchange for letting you begin a New Cycle (New Game Plus) much earlier.

The only incentive to choosing the Bad Ending over the Good Ending is for the viewing the cutscenes and Bad Ending itself.

Best Ending to Get (First Playthrough)

Good Ending

The best ending to go for during your first playthrough is obviously the Good Ending. This story route is considered the game’s “true” climax that narrates the canon events of Persona 3 Reload.

The additional features and content available to you when going for Good Ending make it the better choice as the amount of story content and obtainable Personas, unique achievement unlocked, and other rewards obtained far surpass any benefit to choosing Bad Ending.

How to Get Both Endings in a Single Playthrough

May be possible through cloud saves (to be confirmed).

It may be possible to get both the  Good and Bad ending in one playthrough of the game via exploiting cloud saves. Otherwise, it is generally better to go for the Good Ending on your first playthrough and the Bad Ending on a New Cycle (NG+) and subsequent playthroughs.
