Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster - Permanent Events

Permanent Events

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne: HD Remaster features a number of permanent events, missable features, and points-of-no-return which are detailed below.

Game System

Skills that your main character forgets cannot be retrieved.

You can choose to forget some of the main character’s skills to make room for new ones throughout the game.  Bear in mind, however, that unlike your demons who can re-acquire certain skills through fusion, the main character will not be able to retrieve skills that they forget.  This means that you should choose which skills you want to keep or discard very carefully.

Best Skill to Learn

You cannot revert the Demonic Compendium to its previous state.

It is not possible to undo any updates to the data in the Demonic Compendium after it is overwritten. After acquiring a new demon, its level, stats, and attributes will automatically be registered to the compendium. If you obtain the same demon again, you can choose to overwrite your current data on that demon or not. Be sure to consider whether the newly acquired demon has more desirable stats and attributes than the one currently registered in the compendium before updating its entry.

Story Events

Conversation choices cannot be undone.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster - Reason Conversations

Your responses when talking to non-playable characters during the story cannot be undone after confirming them. Note that certain dialogue choices in the game will affect the type of ending you will get so choose your answers carefully based on the ending you want.

Ending Guide

Some areas cannot be revisited when you progress further into the game.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster - Labyrinth of Amala

Certain areas like the Shiodome portion of the Assembly of Nihilo and the Labyrinth of Amala cannot be revisited after reaching center points in the game. The Labyrinth of Amala, in particular, will only be accessible before you enter the Tower of Kagutsuchi (the game’s final dungeon).
