Surt is not affected by death and ailment skills, the latter being very useful against annoying enemies that can inflict bind, stun, sleep, charm, and panic. Surt does need to be careful against foes that can cast strong ice magic which it is weak to.
Surt access to some good skills that hit multiple enemies or all of them. Ragnarok, his strongest attack, is a single-target fire skill that can easily take out enemies weak to the damage type.

Mother Harlot has access to strong electric attacks like Maziodyne and Bolt Storm and can apply shock to enemies. It learns Beast Roar at Lv. 73 which hits all foes with consistent almighty damage while giving her back 10% of her max HP.
