Press Turn Battle System in Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster
Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne: HD Remaster features a unique battle system called the “Press Turn System”. The Press Turn System builds on the foundation of traditional turn-based combat and adds a new element in the form of a “Press Turn”. A “Press Turn” represents a regular turn or an action point for each party member and foe. Regular turns can be in the form of using normal attacks, using physical or magic skills, casting buffs, landing debuffs, consuming items, or recalling/summoning Demon allies.
The Protagonist must be tactical in his approach and execute complex moves in order to keep his party’s Press Turns from running out. These moves include landing Critical Hits, exploiting Elemental Weaknesses, or Regular Turn passes. When the player keeps executing these complex moves, will consume half Press Turns instead. If your party ran out of Press Turns and unable to clear all enemies, they will also take advantage of this system against your party. Take note that when you missed some of your attacks, two Press Turns will be consumed instead of one as a form of punishment.
