Status Effects

Please note information here is for the original Demon’s Souls on the Playstation 3. We will update this page with information for Demon’s Souls Remake on the Playstation 5 when the game comes out.

Status effects are abnormal conditions that affect the player and enemies. Some status effects are beneficial and can help the player turn a battle around.

Name Effect How to Remove
Bleeding Inflicts bleeding status and temporarily receives small damage over time. Use Soldier’s Lotus or Cure
Poisoned Inflicts poison status and temporarily receives small damage over time. Weakens the potency of recovery items. Use Royal Lotus, Antidote, or Cure
Plagued Inflicts plagued status and drains health. Weakens the potency of recovery items and slows down Stamina regeneration. Use Widow’s Lotus or Cure

Other Status Effects

Name Effect How to Remove
Health/Magic Stamina Regen Regenerates HP, MP, or Stamina. Appears after casting Regen (Miracle) or using one of the following rings: Regenerator’s Ring, Fragrant Ring, or Eternal Warriors Ring. Unequip
Second Chance Active Appears after casting Second Chance (Miracle).
Nullified Falling Damage Appears after using Cat’s Ring. Does not negate Fatal fall. Unequip
Increased Defense (Health is lower than 30%) Appears after using Dull Rat’s Ring Unequip
Increased Attack (Health is lower than 30%) After using Clever Rat’s Ring Unequip
Increased Souls Gained After after casting Magic Spell or Soul Thirst or using one of the following: Ring of Avarice or Silver Bracelets. Unequip
Increased Stealth Effect Appears after using Graverobber’s Ring or Thief’s Ring Unequip
Increased Enemy Aggro Appears after using Ring of the Accursed Unequip
Increased Faith Appears after using Ring of Sincere Prayer, Ring of Magical Sharpness, Kris Blade, Or Monk’s Head Collar. Unequip
Increase Physical, Magic, and Flame Resistance Boosts Physical, Magic, or Flame damage. Appears after casting Protection, Warding, or Water Veil or using Ring of Flame Resistance, or Ring of Magical Dullness. Unequip
Increased Damage during Phantom Form Appears after using Friend’s Ring or Foe’s Ring. Unequip
Increased Status Ailment Resistance Appears after using one of the following rings: Ring of Gash Resistance, Ring of Poison Resistance, or Ring of Disease Resistance Unequip
Increased Physical Damage After using a boosted weapon. Unequip
Increased Sweet Spot Damage Appears after using Master’s Ring. Unequip
Improved Weapon Durability After using Ronin’s Ring Unequip
Broken Equipment After using broken armor or weapon Unequip
Anti Magic Field Active After triggering Anti-Magic Field
