Power Beam Attack
The Power Beam Attack is a standard rapid-fire beam. In Metroid Dread, you can attack from nearly any angle using Free Aim. You can modify its power and properties by increasing its attack’s spread or by adding new functions.
In Metroid Dread, you can now effectively shoot your beam while running, jumping, or holding on to certain walls of ledges.
How to Unlock
Samus’ Beam Attack is already available for her in the game.
Charge Beam
The Charge Beam is a high-powered power beam attack that is charged by Samus before shooting. Similarly, you can move while charging the attack. However, the attack is slower.
Use the Charge Beam as your initial attack to slow or stagger enemies. Also, unlock Charge Beam Doors using the Charge Beam when encountered in the game.
How to Unlock
Acquire the beam upgrade by locating a hidden room in Artaria.
Wide Beam
The Wide Beam fires three-beam shots at the same time. This enables Samus to cover a wide area of attack.
Using the Wide Beam helps Samus to push Wide Beam Boxes as well as destroy Wide Beam Covers.
How to Unlock
Located and can be unlocked in Dairon.
Plasma Beam
The Plasma Beam is a green beam that can penetrate strong and armored enemies.
It is the stronger beam weapon upgrade that is effective to almost all enemies.
How to Unlock
Located and can be unlocked once you’ve reached the 7th area in Elun.
Wave Beam
The Wave Beam is a purple beam that penetrates terrain, obstacles, and special objects.
How to Unlock
Can be unlocked after defeating the purple E.M.M.I. in the northeastern top area of Ferenia.
Grappling Beam
A rope-shaped beam that connects to a specific Grapple Point such as a wall and ceiling. Once Samus connects, she can tow objects in form of pull or hung. Also, the beam can be used to swing around and land on unreachable parts of the environment.
Use the Grappling Beam to open Grapple Doors and manipulate the environment to open new pathways. Also, it can be used to pull and attract enemies.
How to Unlock
Located and can be unlocked in Artaria.
Omega Cannon
A special beam fire that can only be used when special conditions are met.
Use Omega Cannon against E.M.M.I. enemies.
How to Unlock
The weapon can only be activated by absorbing energy from Central Units found in the various locations of the planet ZDR.
Diffusion Beam
Causes Charge Beam shots to explode on impact.
How to Unlock
Located and can be unlocked in Cataris.
Hyper Beam
A powerful beam ability that can get through and defeat any enemies or surfaces.
How to Unlock
The weapon can only be activated by absorbing energy after defeating Raven Beak in Itorash.
