Metroid Dread features two difficulty modes which are Normal and Hard. The former is the game’s is set automatically after starting a new game for the first time. Hard, meanwhile, is unlocked after beating the game once on Normal mode.

Normal The game’s standard difficulty. Recommended for new players and those who are not familiar with platformer action games. Unlocked by default.
Hard Recommended for expert players. Features regular enemies and bosses that have more health and deal more damage. Clear the game on Normal difficulty.
