Metroid Dread is a single-player, action-adventure, and side-scroller Metroidvania game. The game is developed by MercurySteam and Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth main entry of the Metroid series and it follows Metroid: Samus Returns, the previous entry that launched last September 15, 2017, for the Nintendo 3DS.

Metroid Dread - Samus Aran

Initially, Metroid Dread was planned to become a 2005 sequel for Metroid Fusion. Unfortunately, it was canceled due to technical limitations. Dread was on hiatus for 15 years until the idea of the game was revived following the success of Samus Returns. Mercury Steam developed the game in partnership with Nintendo EPD.

Metroid Dread - EMMI Enemies
