How to Unlock “A Parting Greeting” Secret Audio
Automatically Obtained after Clearing Ending E Story Route
“A Parting Greeting” is a secret audio clip that you can listen to after unlocking Ending E. It can be accessed in the Options menu after you load your restored game save file (the one that was deleted when you unlocked Ending D).

“A Parting Greeting” contains no visuals (cutscenes) and is simply a special message from the various characters saying thank you to the player for going through the entire game.
Special Message for the Player
Since the characters of the main story directly address the player in the audio message (thereby breaking the fourth wall), it is safe to assume that the event does not truly exist within the main story (or does it?).
Theories
Despite being a simple message to the player, it is interesting to speculate on what could be hinted from a line spoken by the boy (assumed to be Young Nier) during the audio log.
Emil: “So it’s really gonna be over, huh? … Does that make anyone else feel sad?”
Boy: “We have to say goodbye eventually. … But hey, I’m sure we’ll meet again!”
