Walkthrough
Nier’s Village
1 | Talk to Yonah at your home. |

2 | Head to the library and talk to Popola. |
3 | Go to the Southern Gate to travel to Southern Planes. |
Southern Plains
1 | When you arrive at the Southern Plains, you can choose to ignore or kill the large shade lurking in the area. |

2 | Save the guard by killing the shades. |
3 | Talk to the guard to get Moonrise. |
4 | Follow the path going south to the Seafront while killing deer to get venison and antlers. You can also get items from the gathering points in the area. |
5 | To get a good amount of gold and items, head to the far end of the map to find some giant spiders at the mansion. |
6 | Continue south to reach the Seafront. |
The Seafront
1 | After talking to Weiss, head southeast past the fish dealer to wharf and talk to the old man facing the ocean. He will give you a rod and lure. |

2 | Follow the marked destination on your map through a tunnel to get to the beach. You can gather items from gathering points here as well. |
3 | Go into the water and begin fishing. Note that you will automatically get the Shaman Fish you need after a cutscene if you fail too many times. |
4 | Head back through the tunnel for a cutscene. Afterwards, accept the old woman’s request. |
5 | Follow the marker to the post office and get the mail for the old woman and Popola from the postman. |
6 | Return to the tunnel going to the beach. |
7 | Head to the lighthouse and climb up. |
8 | Talk to the old lady to get 1000G. Afterwards, take the north gate to exit to the Southern Plains. |
9 | Follow the path back to Nier’s village. |
Nier’s Village (Return)
1 | Go to your house and give Yonah the medicine. |

2 | After advancing to the next day, head to the library and talk to Popola. |
3 | Talk to Devola in the market area’s tavern. |
4 | Go to the Northern Gate to travel to the Junk Heap. |
Strategy
Do some side quests.
Before leaving for the Seafront, go to the market area to activate some quests related to your next destination to make the most out of the trip.
Killing the large shade in Southern Plains
A good way to kill the large shade in the Southern Plains is to use ranged magic such as Dark Hand or Dark Lance to whittle away at its health. Note that since the enemy is quite powerful, killing will take a fair amount of time and patience. You can simply ignore it if you only want to advance the story
